Haven't fished in ages..
In fact..
Never caught a live fish myself in my entire life..
Which also means..
I spent my past 20 years ATTEMPTING to fish.. [Not fish.. =S]
Who cares so much when i could get fishes from NTUC or Cold Storage right?! =P

How?!

Something compelling..
Captivated my attention totally..
What a rare sight!
Found this meaty thing on this seat beside Yishun Blk 346 basketball court..
With some houseflies flying around..

On the center?!

Is it a bird? A pile of cat shit?

Being curious..
I went closer for a better view..

Guess what?!

It was a dead rat! =O

Omg.. Wrong decision to go closer..
Was a little too close and a SWAMP of houseflies "ERUPTED" from the decomposing piece of rat meat..
Those thousand-eyed-freaks were coming for me!!!
Luckily I am a "conscientious bather"..
Those freaks went back to feast on the remaining HALF of the black rotting flesh..
GOSH!
The flies must be happily gobbling down the liquified rat flesh...
Imagine only half of the rat body left?!

Now I was thinking..
How in the world did that piece of black rotten meat end up in the CENTER OF THE CHAIR?!
Was it the cat on the nearby bench?!

Didn't your mum teach you only to play with rats & not kill them?!

BB Adventure Quest First Aid Duty - Jungle

Stayed overnight in YTSS from the 4th to 5th just to wake up at 3.30am to prepare to leave for Dover ITE at 4.30am..
Whole event stretches from 5am to 5pm!
One crazy first aid duty yea?

What's worse was..
I was crazy enough to choose a jungle post when I was dressed in SJAB shirt, jeans and snickers!
Disastrous choice to make.. =(

Lets see..
Couldn't sleep well..
Woke up at 3am after lying down for 2 hours..
Cycled to Block 292 for breakfast..
Maggie goreng & Iced milo..=P
Shiok..

Cycled back..
Done with all the preparations..
Left for Dover ITE with the whole bunch of SJAB cadets..

Reached the start & end point - Dover ITE
Everyone got their breakfast, goodie bags, first aid pouches & respective posts..
Short briefing..
Set off!

Now.. Comes my jungle journey with Kamal..

Set off into the muddy greens with unknown creepy crawlies with 2 BB officers..

Explored the route, identified the danger spots and possible first aid spots..
When I went in..
First thing that came to my mind was..
"OMG! My shoes! My jeans!"
Wrong attire.. =(

Let's take a look at the danger spots..

Number 1: Steep 45 degrees slope beside mud water pond

Number 2: Long slippery slope

Number 3: Stupid mud water filled dam

Yes. You got to jump over that.
No one knows how deep that was, I was the first to find out..=(
Managed to jump across it once..
2nd try: JUMP, SLIP, FELL INTO THE DAM!
DAMN! There goes my my whole day..
Feet soaked in mud water soaked socks and shoes! *How bad can it be for a start of a morning first aid duty!*

New socks and the poncho did help to keep my feet slightly drier..
Tore up the plastic poncho from the goodie bag..
Wrapped my feet with it and put the whole thing in the shoe!
Tada! Feet saved from whatever fungal infections! =D

Event started..

Feet was fine..

As I watch the 120 teams go by..

Going past the danger spots safely..

Something else bothered me..

Yes, feet were saved but my arms were brutally attacked by the commando-trained mosquitoes..
20 plus bites on each arm..
I ended up saving myself from the possible dengue..
Kamal had all the mosquito coils and he's across the dam!
I'm not going back there.. =(
The bites got so bad..
Wrapped my whole arm in triangular bandages..
Lol! At least that helped a little..
Except for a few really superb mosquitoes that pierced their blood sucking tube through the bandage! OMG.

Still, I survived..

With..

My iPod Touch, lots of isotonic drinks..
& also.. Shereen's phone calls.. =)

Headed back to Dover ITE..

New fashion trend! - Garbage bags!

Waited for the teams to come back..
Treating lots and lots and lots of leg cramps..
Lol!
Everything ended smoothly..
